Bibiyana-28 Drilling Project

Project Details

Bibiyana Gas Plant was put on production in 2007 with 12 wells, producing initially at a rate of 300 MMscfd gas and 2000 B/d condensate. The plant had a processing capacity of 600 MMscfd. Since then, the plant processing capacity has been increased gradually with multiple expansion activities to meet national gas demand. The capacity increased to 840 MMscfd through facilities upgrades in 2008, and to 1350 MMscfd by a major plant capacity expansion (Bibiyana Expansion Project) during 2013-2014. The gas processing capacity is 1350 MMscfd, and condensate processing capacity is 10,000 bbl/d utilizing a thermal liquid recovery unit. Chevron Bangladesh, in collaboration with Petrobangla has undertaken the new BY Drilling Project to meet country’s growing energy by assuring reliable production facility.

The proposed project will drill a single well (BY-28), which is in Bibiyana North Pad. Apart from the rig footprint, project execution will need a pipe laydown area, chemical storages, temporary portable accommodation, and office blocks. Chemicals will be stored in the existing storage area, will be utilized for BY-28 Project.
